Magokoro

Magokoro New York

PRODUCTS:  Jewelry, trays, candle holders, greeting cards, head bands, boxes, candle holders, etc.

Using Japanese traditional mulberry paper to create jewelry, trays, boxes, greeting cards, candle holders, mobiles, etc. Coating with liquid polymer. This is my self taught technique and it expresses “the beauty of the fusion”; different cultures (Japanese paper and non-Japanese coating stand for it) accepting and melting each other creates beauty. This is the main message from Magokoro New York.

Jeneric Bags

Jeneric Bags

PRODUCTS: Quilts, Bags, Purses, and more!

I am a quilter. I love making patchwork items. These include not only quilts, but also tote bags, pot-holders, and other bags and accessories. Although I do buy some of my fabric and materials new, I like to make “finds” at thrift stores and tag sales, as well as re-purposing fabric from worn out items. I find it hard to throw out any piece of fabric, no matter how small, so many of my bags are made with a “scrappy” look, that makes each one truly unique. In addition to craft fairs and markets throughout the lower Hudson Valley, you can find a selection of my items on my ETSY page. Custom orders are always welcomed.

What’s Cooking, with Donna Douglass

PRODUCTS: Cooking Classes

What’s Cooking has been teaching cooking and baking classes to individuals and their families all over the Hudson Valley since 2000. With a focus on local, organic (when possible) and sustainable ingredients from many of the farms and farm markets/grocers around the Hudson Valley.

Classes range from learning how to cook healthy, to mastering specific techniques (knife skills, sauteing, roasting) or exploring a new cuisine. Each class we divide you into teams and you will work hands-on together and guided by an experienced instructor. You learn in the comforts of your home kitchen in a fun and relaxing environment. Students will be able to recreate these class recipes on their own since they will be taught techniques and not recipes. Each class you will be able to complete 4 different recipes and take home a typed handout.

Each month we have new cooking classes to reflect the seasons of eating and we will also run basic technique classes for new students each month. In addition, you can enjoy learning about cuisines from around the world and close to home, right in your own kitchen.
